As a group, we Canadians tend to get really excited about things. If you’ve ever attended TIFF, then you know what I’m talking about (I’m thisclose to starting a Kickstarter for them to build an arena for the festival because it’s getting too big). If you follow me on Twitter or know me in real life, you know how much I loved Big Brother Canada. We’re just an easily excited bunch.
So, of course, with the second Canadian version of a hit American reality show coming our way, we’re even more excited. IT’S JUST A REALLY BIG YEAR FOR US, OKAY? The cast had been kept secret – until now. You can Google search the entire cast, but there are only two names that really, actually MATTER. Those names? It’s Canadian fitness/informercial/power couple Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod. If you’re Canadian there are a few things that are just so typically us and that are forever in our brains: That time Avril Lavigne show her ass at the MMVAs, The Marineland theme song, the setting of a Joe Fresh commercial, Oliver Jewelry commercials and these two. Back in the day when I would watch reruns of any classic sitcom on TV, these two kept my fitness and nutrition knowledge in check. SO OBVIOUSLY I’M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS. The Amazing Race Canada brought it. I’m ready.
Let’s talk about how good these two still look? Their combined age is like, 300, right? GOD BLESS THEM.
