Now this is how you tease your movie that isn’t coming out for another few months. Well played, O. Russell, well played.

The first photos from O. Russell’s Silver Linings follow up, American Hustle, made their way online today and mostly everyone is focusing on Amy Adams because, damn Double AA! Even though we saw 65 million set photos because all anyone could focus on was Bradley Cooper’s perm, this is still relatively exciting. I feel like I’m going to love this movie. A lot. Like a lot a lot. Like how much I love The Fighter (and how much I loved SLP when I first saw it at TIFF last year, my feeling somewhat altered on repeat viewings). Also: it took me a long time to realize that was Bale. Christ, this movie.

But what I want to talk about is Amy Adams. There was a time when I couldn’t stand her. It was before and slightly after Julie & Julia. Confession: J&J is my summertime shit. Yours too? I’m not alone? Or are you juding me? Whatever, it’s f-cking great mostly because of Mer-Bear. I DIGRESS. Then came The Fighter and Amy Adams SHOWED UP. She took a really risky role, especially for an actress like her, and stole the entire f-cking movie (for me). THAT SCENE. You know what scene I’m talking about, but if you don’t, let me post it:

That’s when I fell in love with AA. And I just really respect her career. She’s been constantly working. She’s not a fame whore. She doesn’t work too much or too little, and is good-great in almost every role. She made most of Man of Steel tolerable. SO…to Amy Adams, for that hustle.
